Additional equipment and options for the TP-Cover

All TP-Covers are designed and constructed according to customer needs. Additionally, we offer a number of features optionally depending on the specific duties the TP-Cover must perform.

Hatches
Both the soft- and hardcover can be accommodated with one or more hatches. Allot of thought has gone into a design which is easily accessible and fully watertight. The number of hatches, their position and dimension are according to customer requirements.

Softcover hatch

The softcover hatch is an opening in the canvas which is outlined with a reinforced heavy duty zipper. The zipper is overlapped by the hatch cover and held in place with velcro straps to ensure water tightness.

Hardcover hatch

The hardcover hatch consists of an outer hatch plate and an inner hatch plate. They both clamp over a hole in the cover construction (one on the inside, the other on the outside). To ensure water tightness; the rim of the hole is provided with a seal. A bolt in the middle of the hatch clamps the outer hatch plate and the inner hatch plate together. The seal is then sandwiched between the outer hatch plate and the inner hatch plate to guarantee complete water tightness. The outer hatch plate and the inner hatch plate are connected with a chain to avoid losing the outer hatch plate when opening the hatch.

Strong point
For hoisting purposes, the TP-Cover can be equipped with a strong point with a safe working load specified by the customer. The strong point is certified according to DNV GL Offshore lifting guidelines (FEM analyses, NDT on welds, excluding load test). Optionally, the strong point can be certified for rescue purposes.

Navigation light
A provision for mounting navigation lights can be incorporated if necessary.

Orientation points
To ensure that the TP-Cover is positioned correctly on the flange it can be provided with orientation points.

Training courses
To enhance skills in assembling and installing the TP-Cover safely and professionally we offer on-site training courses. The following skills are acquired:

  • Efficient and safe assembly and disassembly of the TP-Cover.
  • Proper hoisting procedures and safety measures.
  • Avoiding damages to the flange of TP during operations.
  • Proper use of the hatch and strong point.

Ventilation
The TP-Covers can be equipped with ventilation to regulate the temperature and to limit the growth of mold/fungi inside the TP.

Documentation
All TP-Covers are supplied with a straightforward user- and maintenance manual.
